Migration is the movement of persons away from their place of usual residence, either across an international border or within a State. It can be voluntary when the migrant has a choice whether or not to migrate or it can be formed when people are made to leave their home or homeland because of war, violence, or persecutions. In both cases when they arrive in the host country migrants often find themselves in unstable and challenging conditions. The definition of their legal statuses can take months or even longer and this precarious situation has serious repercussions on their psychological wellbeing and integration.
